Now in its sixth year, the award is named in honor of the late JoLeta Reynolds, who served as senior policy advisor under the assistant secretary of education. Dr. Reynolds played a key role in the 1997 and 2004 IDEA reauthorizations and development of implementing regulations for both. Dr. Reynolds was a long-time supporter and adviser to LRP’s National Institute and to hundreds of special educators and administrators throughout the country.
