LRP’s National Institute moving forward as an innovative, online event
Every year, we look forward to connecting with our community of special educators and compliance experts at LRP’s Institute. The health and wellbeing of this community -- that has been curated over 40 years – is our top priority. When planning the 2020 Institute, we anticipated hot topics would include dyslexia, staffing shortages, mental health, and Title IX. Considering recent events, we know those issues are still relevant, but you now have more pressing concerns, such as virtual learning, regression/recoupment, and virtual IEP meetings, to name a few.
As a consequence of the rapid, pandemic spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our host city New Orleans and throughout the nation, extensive school board issued travel bans, system-wide reductions to commercial airline routes and state and local orders prohibiting large gatherings, and in alignment with the recent best practices laid out by the CDC, WHO and government guidelines, LRP is moving the conference online to provide you with the scheduled content, plus insights on how COVID-19 is impacting special education.
Nowhere else will you be able to find the nation's special education experts identifying the emerging issues so clearly and providing answers to common questions based on district, state, and federal guidance – without the present risk of travel. With the national emphasis on the importance of social distancing, online learning is an optimal way to provide the vital information and professional development you anticipate from the National Institute.
We look forward to bringing together our community in this new rich, interactive digital experience format to learn, connect, and grow together.
